Value for money – visitors can relax and enjoy their holiday or short break without having to be too concerned about watching the pennies. Your spending money will go a long way, despite Slovenia being in the eurozone. For example, a large beer or a glass of wine will normally cost around 2.00 eur and a good quality three course evening meal with wine costs around 15.00/20.00 eur per head.
Safety & wellbeing – Slovenia is a relatively safe country with a low crime rate. Additionally, in the unlikely event that you may require some medical attention during your visit, it is reassuring to know that the health services in Slovenia are first class.
Cleanliness & hygiene – just like our alpine neighbours in Austria, Slovenia is a very clean country with exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You can also drink the tap water which you will find most refreshing and enjoyable – but perhaps not as much as our wine!!
Language – Slovenes are very well versed in learning foreign languages and it is not unusual to find people here who can speak three different languages – most predominantly English, German and Italian. Almost everyone speaks at least one foreign language
Friendly people and superb hospitality – you will feel the warmth of the Slovene people in just about every possible situation. Slovenes are well reknowned for their kind and caring nature towards visitors and you will find the level of hospitality here second to none.
Fantastic scenery - Slovenia is one of the prettiest and most unspoilt countries in Central Europe. It is the third greenest country in Europe with around two thirds of the land covered by trees.
Diversity of landscape & climate - We have mountains and coast, alpine and meditteranean climates, bustling cities and sleepy villages – all within a land which is comparable in size with Wales or half the size of Switerland.
Rich culture – Slovenia has a rich and unique culture of its own which dates back over fifteen centuries. Furthermore we have a lot of influences from our neighbouring countries – Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary - which enhance the mix of different cultures to be found from one region to another.
Delicious food & drink – Slovenia has a huge variety of cuisine which will appeal to everyone. Different meat, fish and vegetarian dishes are plentiful and are complimented by many different sauces and side dishes. Our cakes, pastries and ice cream are mouthwatering and our superb range of wines, beers and schnapps will satisfy the thirstiest of travellers. |
